When inside the electrical box Remove Right side screw that secures the capacitors. Move capacitors against left side wall and wrap the band around the capacitors securing the band making sure the wires are not pulled too tight. Crimp Disconnects on SoftstartRV wires as shown in SoftstartRV box above.
Step 1) Follow White compressor wire to the Run Capacitor, Disconnect and connect to Blue SoftstartRV wire.
Step 2) Connect Black SoftstartRV wire to the terminal the White Compressor wire was on.
Step 3) Follow the Red compressor wire from the compressor to the “HERM” terminal. DO NOT DISCONNECT RED COMPRESSOR WIRE. Connect the Yellow SoftstartRV wire on the Terminal next to the Red compressor wire if it is available (see next step).
Step 4) IF you see a 2nd Red wire next to the Red compressor wire DISCONNECT it, tape the end and drop it. Then connect the Yellow SoftstartRV wire on the Terminal where you pulled off the second Red wire.
Step 5) Follow the Black compressor wire down to where it connects to the purple wire. Moving up the Black wire Approximately 4” from the connection with the purple wire, cut the black wire and put a female connector on it. Then plug it into the Brown SoftstartRV wire.
Step 6) Next, with the remaining wire that is Purple with a 4” Black piece on it, crimp a Male disconnect on it and Connect it to the Red SoftstartRV wire.
Secure the excess wire with a tie wrap. Turn the Power and A/C breaker on and turn the fan on High to make sure you hear it running. Then turn the A/C to Auto Cool and set the thermostat to 55 degrees. Look at the SoftstartRV to make sure you have a Green Light meaning the compressor is running. After you see the Green light, turn the power off and replace all the covers. Now restart the A/C, adjust your thermostat to about 2 degrees below the outside temperature and let it run for about 30 minutes, allowing it to cycle on and off a few times.
IF no Green Light comes on after 4 minutes shut the A/C down and contact Tech Support, www.softstartrv.com/support and fill out a ticket.
